[All AZ-303 Questions]

HOTSPOT -
You have an Azure subscription that contains the storage accounts shown in the following table.

For each of the following statements, select Yes if the statement is true. Otherwise, select No.
NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.
Hot Area:

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer:
Box 1: Yes -
General purpose version 2 (GPv2) storage accounts: GPv2 storage accounts allow you to deploy Azure file shares on standard/hard disk-based (HDD-based) hardware.

Box 2: No -
Four not six copies.
Geo-redundant storage (GRS) copies your data synchronously three times within a single physical location in the primary region using LRS. It then copies your data asynchronously to a single physical location in the secondary region.

Box 3: Yes -
You can switch a storage account from one type of replication to any other type.
To switch from LRS to GRS use Azure portal, PowerShell, or CLI to change the replication setting.

N Y Y GPv2 cannot have File Storage - Premium. Only available for Standard. If you want to go with Premium, then we need to select "File Storage Premium" instead of GP2. So Q1 is No.

Can't have file shares in Premium v2 account. Go to portal and try it, there is no File shares option once a V2 Premium storage account is created

Just checked and it's true. Actually, that link has very clear pictures on how each redundancy method works and you can see clearly 3 copies of data in each region.

1. N - A premium Storagev2 (GPv2) file share does not exist as "any" selection of GPv2 forces standard. So, N you cannot create a File shard with those parameters 2 Y - GRS maintain 6 copies (3+3) 3.Y - "legacy" Blob Storage Blob Storage (block blobs and append blobs only) LRS/GRS/RA-GRS

as per below link 3rd should be NO https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/redundancy-migration?tabs=portal 2 Migrating from LRS to GRS is not supported if the storage account contains blobs in the archive tier.

Standard general-purpose v2: Standard storage account type for blobs, file shares, queues, and tables. Recommended for most scenarios using Azure Storage. Note that if you want support for NFS file shares in Azure Files, use the premium file shares account type. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/storage-account-overview?toc=/azure/storage/blobs/toc.json

1 N - there is no account like StorageV2 premium 2 Y - GRS maintain 6 copies (3+3) 3 N - there is no such type of account. You can create StorageV2 in standard tier and blob would be a part of StorageV2 account. In premium tier you can choose between block and page blob accounts - no GRS support for both.

Azure supports multiple types of storage accounts for different storage scenarios customers may have, but there are two main types of storage accounts for Azure Files. Which storage account type you need to create depends on whether you want to create a standard file share or a premium file share: General purpose version 2 (GPv2) storage accounts: GPv2 storage accounts allow you to deploy Azure file shares on standard/hard disk-based (HDD-based) hardware. In addition to storing Azure file shares, GPv2 storage accounts can store other storage resources such as blob containers, queues, or tables. File shares can be deployed into the transaction optimized (default), hot, or cool tiers. FileStorage storage accounts: FileStorage storage accounts allow you to deploy Azure file shares on premium/solid-state disk-based (SSD-based) hardware. FileStorage accounts can only be used to store Azure file shares; no other storage resources (blob containers, queues, tables, etc.) can be deployed in a FileStorage account.
