To create a vault to protect any data source, the vault must be in the same region as the data source. So D is correct answer

Tested in Lab. Correct Answer is D: Storage account 1 & 2. Vault and storage accounts should be in same location.

Agreed D: Region: Select the geographic region for the vault. For you to create a vault to help protect any data source, the vault must be in the same region as the data source. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/backup-create-rs-vault

Answers DE are correct. Lab tested. You can create a vault in EAST US or in WEST US and assign it to a resource group which is in another region. Sounds a little bit strange to create RG1 in EAST US, assign Vault1 which is is WEST US but also in RG1. I would never do that in production but it works. The vault should be in the same region OR in the same RG.

What kind of question is this?? If RG1 is in EastUS how is that possible the question be asking about WestUS?? This is very wrong!

This is D only Data storage must be in the same region as vault. Only Storage1 and Storage2 are in the same region as of Vault1. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/backup-create-rs-vault
