[All MS-203 Questions]

You have a Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 organization.
You purchase a Microsoft 365 subscription and configure Active Directory synchronization.
You use a smart host for all email communication between the organization and the Internet. The smart host performs email hygiene and alters message headers.
You plan to run the Hybrid Configuration wizard to create an Exchange hybrid deployment and change the MX record to point to Exchange Online.
You need to decommission the smart host from the organization.
What should you do first?

  • A. Create a Receive connector that allows anonymous authentication.
  • B. Modify the InternalSmtpServer value by running the Set-TransportConfig cmdlet.
  • C. Modify the Send connector to use DNS delivery.
  • D. Modify the TLSReceiveDomainSecureList value by running the Set-TransportConfig cmdlet.

Should be C These are the important settings on Send connectors: Network settings: Configure how the Send connector routes mail: by using DNS or by automatically forward all mail to a smart host. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/mail-flow/connectors/send-connectors?view=exchserver-2019

Selected Answer: C
if we are decommissioning the smart host we should simply change the connector from the IP/domain of the smart host (currently set) to DNS (MX record) instead. i dont see how the other options make sense unless there is an actual explanation that makes sense from someone?

Technically this is correct for this question. You would modify this attribute with your domain value or values then you would create the connectors and choose to enable "MutualAuthTLS" for the connectors that correspond to the domains you specified with the values in the TLSSendDomainSecureList attribute that you modified.

Surely you would want both inbound and outbound mail leaving EOP, so you would want to send all mail from onPrem to EOP. Not have two breakouts for you mail. onPrem and EOP.

Yeah...I hate this as an option. Yet another exam question that would never see the real world.
