Resource to create in Azure: Dependency Agent
The Map feature in Azure Monitor for VMs gets its data from the Microsoft Dependency agent. The Dependency agent relies on the Log Analytics agent for its connection to Log Analytics. So your system must have the Log Analytics agent installed and configured with the Dependency agent.
Whether you enable Azure Monitor for VMs for a single Azure VM or you use the at-scale deployment method, use the Azure VM Dependency agent extension to install the agent as part of the experience.
In a hybrid environment, you can download and install the Dependency agent manually. If your VMs are hosted outside Azure, use an automated deployment method
Configuration to perform on the virtual machines: Enable Virtual Machine Scale Set
To set up Azure Monitor for VMs:
✑ Enable a single Azure VM or virtual machine scale set by selecting Insights (preview) directly from the VM or virtual machine scale set.
✑ Enable two or more Azure VMs and virtual machine scale sets by using Azure Policy. This method ensures that on existing and new VMs and scale sets, the required dependencies are installed and properly configured. Noncompliant VMs and scale sets are reported, so you can decide whether to enable them and to remediate them.
Enable two or more Azure VMs or virtual machine scale sets across a specified subscription or resource group by using PowerShell.

I believe this questions is different. The answer options should be : Resource to create in Azure - Log Analytics workspace Configuration to perform on the virtual machines: Install the Microsoft Monitoring Agent

I think the right answer for the first one is (Azure) monitor agent, monitor agent collects Event Logs and performance, which meets the question of "Monitor all warning events in the systems log". In contrast, the Dependence agent collects "Process dependencies Network connection metrics". https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/platform/agents-overview Performance. However, the Azure monitor agent is in preview, i don't think Microsoft use any preview stuff. A correct answers is Log Analytics agent, but it is not on the answer option

Dependency agent used for performance countering. How it collects events I have no idea. It should Log Analytics Agent. But as in firs box there is no suitable agent only Dependency agent is should be selected. Bu for the configuration I am not sure. JUst need to install agent on machine and viola. WHy need to configure scale set which is not mentioned in question. So this question is confused

why do we need a virtual machine scale set here. Azure dependeny agent will send data to Log analytics workspace. But what is the need for Virtual Machine Scale Set here?

Resource Agent is an ambiguous answer. Dependency Agent runs on Windows and Linux virtual machines and it integrates with the Log Analytics agent to collect discovered data about processes running on the virtual machine and external process dependencies. It stores this data in a Log Analytics workspace and visualizes the discovered interconnected components. Used for Dependency Map. In order to monitor and manage virtual machines or physical computers in your local datacenter or other cloud environment with Azure Monitor, you need to deploy the Log Analytics agent (also referred to as the Microsoft Monitoring Agent (MMA)) and configure it to report to one or more Log Analytics workspaces. Azure Monitor logs provide monitoring capabilities across cloud and on-premises assets.
