You are a Dynamics 365 for Customer Service system administrator. You use the Data Performance tool. There are 14 items in the All Data Performance Logs view. Some log items detail positive operational impact percentages while others detail negative operational percentages.
Users report that the system is less responsive than in the past.
You need to improve system performance.
Solution: Select optimize for log items that have optimizations available and that have a positive operational impact percentage.
Does the solution meet the goal?

The answer is right Negative values indicate an improvement in query performance and positive values reveal that the optimization is actually degrading performance

The answer is correct. Let's have a closer look at the question: "..There are 14 items in the All Data Performance Logs view. Some log items detail positive operational impact percentages while others detail negative operational percentages." Since it is mentioned that the user is able to see the positive and negative operational percentages. That implies that the OPTIMIZE has already been clicked for some of the queries earlier. Now read this "Initially after a query is optimized using the OPTIMIZE command bar button the column will show no value, but over time after the optimized query is run, this column will show negative or positive integer values. Negative values indicate an improvement in query performance and positive values reveal that the optimization is actually degrading performance. If that is the case, the optimization can be removed using the REMOVE OPTIMIZATION command bar button."

https://powerobjects.com/2017/10/30/managing-your-data-performance-in-dynamics-365/ Read the following sentence " Initially after a query is optimized using the OPTIMIZE command bar button the column will show no value, but over time after the optimized query is run, this column will show negative or positive integer values. Negative values indicate an improvement in query performance and positive values reveal that the optimization is actually degrading performance" which suggests selecting the negative items and clicking optimizing will improve the performance, selecting positive values will degrade it. so the correct answer is "No".

Actually, A is the right answer though it does seem counterintuitive. According to https://powerobjects.com/2017/10/30/managing-your-data-performance-in-dynamics-365/: Initially after a query is optimized using the OPTIMIZE command bar button the column will show no value, but over time after the optimized query is run, this column will show negative or positive integer values. Negative values indicate an improvement in query performance and positive values reveal that the optimization is actually degrading performance. If that is the case, the optimization can be removed using the REMOVE OPTIMIZATION command bar button.

B- if the value is positive you should remove it and not optimize.

B is a correct answer : Optimization Impact. All potential optimizations begin with an optimization impact value of 0. Potential optimizations have no impact measurement yet because the optimization hasn't been applied. Over time, after an optimization is applied by clicking OPTIMIZE, an integer value is displayed that represents query performance impact. For example, after one week since the optimization was applied, the value that appears can help indicate whether an optimization has improved or degraded query performance for the given entity. A negative value suggests an improvement in query performance, whereas a positive number suggests a degradation in query performance. So, an optimization applied one week ago that has a value of -10% suggests a 10 percent improvement in query performance. ref : https://portal.dynamics365support.com/knowledgebase/article/KA-01217/en-us

This question is no longer relevant as Data Performance Tool does not exist anymore in Dynamics 365 CE v9 (it was only available in v8). Apparently the question has been challenged but it's useful to know the correct answer in case this question hasn't been pulled yet and could make a difference to marginal exam scores!

If you see any value, positive or negative, that means you have already optimized the item. If the value is positive, it is better to remove optimization. So the answer seems right.

Is this question complete? Or after select there are some actions missing, such as stop them or delete them? Cannot really understand the logic, what selection can impact the system?

"Initially after a query is optimized using the OPTIMIZE command bar button the column will show no value, but over time after the optimized query is run, this column will show negative or positive integer values." So 'No ' is the valid answer since you have to optimize first before it shows values.
