Note: This question is part of a series of questions that present the same scenario. Each question in the series contains a unique solution that might meet the stated goals. Some question sets might have more than one correct solution, while others might not have a correct solution.
After you answer a question in this section, you will NOT be able to return to it. As a result, these questions will not appear in the review screen.
You are a Dynamics 365 for Customer Service system administrator. You use the Data Performance tool. There are 14 items in the All Data Performance Logs view. Some log items detail positive operational impact percentages while others detail negative operational percentages.
Users report that the system is less responsive than in the past.
You need to improve system performance.
Solution: Select optimize for log items that have optimizations available and an operational impact of zero percent.
Does the solution meet the goal?

  • A. Yes
  • B. No

"Negative values indicate an improvement in query performance and positive values reveal that the optimization is actually degrading performance" Zero means that situation didn't change, so no impact. In question we have goal: "You need to improve system performance." so in my opionion answer should be: NO

It is NO. The right answer would be remove optimization where positive values reveal that the optimization is actually degrading performance.

A is correct. "Optimization Impact. All potential optimizations begin with an optimization impact value of 0. Potential optimizations have no impact measurement yet because the optimization hasn’t been applied". Link: https://www.crminnovation.com/blog/dynamics-365-analyze-improve-data-query-performance/

Data Performance tool is no longer available for Dynamics 365 CE v9 so this question may have been removed from the exam as it has been challenged.

Ans is Correct - A The Question clearly a hint... Please focus on the statement, "log items that have optimizations available".. that means a user can go ahead and select the log items where optimizations are avl and click optimize button..

It's correct as 0 means optimization has not been run so should try it.

Exactly, removing optimzations with an unknow result will not lead to a performance improvement. Hence, this will not be a suitable solution to the question 'improve performance'

But that won't improve performance, it will just run the optimizations. The new optimizations might improve or reduce performance, so simply running unused optimizations, in itself, is not enough to improve system performance, which is what the question asks.

In this scenario, the answer is correct and Categorized Search should work. Please note that none of the searches for run (with or without wild card) returned any results for the Relevance Search.

I also think that the answer (YES) is Correct. "Optimization Impact" All potential optimizations begin with an optimization impact value of 0. Potential optimizations have no impact measurement yet because the optimization hasn't been applied. Over time, after an optimization is applied by clicking OPTIMIZE, an integer value is displayed that represents query performance impact. It is critical to understand the values returned in the Optimization Impact column because this will allow you to manage the Data Performance feature to improve query performance in our environment. Initially after a query is optimized using the OPTIMIZE command bar button the column will show no value, but over time after the optimized query is run, this column will show negative or positive integer values. Negative values indicate an improvement in query performance and positive values reveal that the optimization is actually degrading performance.
