Microsoft looooves Delivery Optimization. Whenever you see it listed as an answer, it is probably it.

The computers are in a WorkGroup with no mention of a server to run the necessary BranchCache processes, so it just has to be Delivery Optimization

branch cache requires WSUS or ConfigMgr. Deliver Optimisation is the best option. https://emeneye.wordpress.com/2016/10/19/delivery-optimisation-branchcache-and-windows-10/#:~:text=This%20setting%20disables%20peer%20content,Update%20servers%20or%20WSUS%20servers.&text=BranchCache%20is%20another%20feature%20that,on%20the%20network%20upon%20request. https://kollective.com/branch_cache_vs_peer_cache_vs_delivery_opt/

Branch cache or delivery optimization are both technically correct. However, looking at Microsoft's articles, it sounds like they will lean towards Delivery Optimization since that is the newer most supported technology for this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/sum/deploy-use/optimize-windows-10-update-delivery "Delivery Optimization is the main download technology and peer-to-peer distribution method built into Windows 10"

B or C... buufff Configure BranchCache for Windows 10 updates https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/update/waas-branchcache Tip: Distributed Cache mode is preferred to Hosted Cache mode for Windows 10 updates to get the most benefit from peer-to-peer distribution. Windows Update Delivery Optimization and privacy https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4468254/windows-update-delivery-optimization-faq Windows Update Delivery Optimization works by letting you get Windows updates and Microsoft Store apps from sources in addition to Microsoft, like other PCs on your local network, or PCs on the Internet that are downloading the same files. [...] If you use a metered or capped Internet connection, Delivery Optimization won’t automatically download or send parts of updates or apps to other PCs on the Internet. I will choose "Windows Update Delivery Optimization". It is the best option.

It is a metered connection, therefore Delivery Optimization is a bad choice.
