It says "a device" not specified what sort of device. So choosing Windows enrollment wouldn't "assure" they could enroll an Ipad, for example.

"Joined". Only Windows 10 devices can JOIN and Azure AD enviroment, therefore, giving them the capability for autoenrollment. Any other devices (iOS, Android) can only "Register" their devices in Azure AD, so they can't auto enroll. There's the Apple Device Enrollment Program for iOS where no Intune App needs to be installed, etc, but I believe the question would mention that specifically, so this is out of scope.

Whoops sorry you're right. I accidentally skipped over joining them to Azure AD, not registering.

Auto-Enrollment is a Windows 10 only feature and in order to limit the devices we must use Enrollment Restrictions. Enrollment restrictions & Windows Enrollment are the 2 only logical answers.

Windows Enrollment (for auto-enrollment &Windows devices joined to AD) and Enrollment restrictions (restrict the number of devices enrolled per user) are the only two logical answers.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/devices/concept-azure-ad-join >> Only Windows 10 and servers can joined to AAD which is what the question is saying. Apple\IOS etc enrolls into InTune then the devices shows up in AAD but this is not what the question is asking..
