Just tested. When you are a Global administrator BUT NOT eDiscovery Administrator you don't see any cases in eDiscovery (what a discovery :-). I was pretty sure that global admin can do everything but apparently not.

That's correct, but you can give yourself the eDiscovery Admin role. Tricky one.

Yes, Yes, No eDiscovery Administrators can manage all cases. Global Administrator can manage all cases. eDiscovery Manager can only manage cases they created.

Global Administrator cannot manage eDiscovery cases unless delegated and eDiscovery Role. All cases would require eDiscovery Administrator. Y, N, N.

Feb 2023. Tested: I created a case with the global admin1, I assigned the global admin to another user and that user does not see ediscovery, you have to give him the ediscovery administrator so yes,no,no is correct

The second answer is neither “YES” nor “NO”, we just don’t have enough information. There is no Role Group or Role named “Global Administrator” in Microsoft Purview by default. So, if someone created a Role Group named “Global Administrator”, how the hell we know the permissions of this Role Group?

eDiscovery Administrator can view and edit all cases regardless of who created it. An eDiscovery Manager can only view and edit their own cases. All other roles cannot view or edit cases, unless the permissions of the case are set to their role where they are in.

Answer is Yes, No, No. The primary difference between an eDiscovery Manager and an eDiscovery Administrator is that an eDiscovery Administrator can access all cases that are listed on the eDiscovery cases page in the Security & Compliance Center. An eDiscovery manager can only access the cases they created or cases they are a member of.

User 4 didnt create case 3, so technically No.3 should be No. Can anyone shed some light ? "eDiscovery Managers can only access and manage the cases they create. They can't access or manage cases created by other eDiscovery Managers" https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/assign-ediscovery-permissions?view=o365-worldwide

I agree with Goena, because there is no higher role than Global Administrator, don't see why would User3 have not enough permissions to do that.

eDiscovery Managers -> can create and manage eDiscovery and Advanced eDiscovery Cases, they can manage and access only cases they create. eDiscovery Administrators -> have the same permissions as eDiscovery Managers but they can also manage all cases in the S&C Center, they can manage the case data in Advanced eDiscovery and they can add themselves as a member of the case So i think YES - NO - NO should be correct answer.
