Both could be done with a canvas, it just comes down to what you are most comfortable working with. Again this is a question where knowing what the author of the question thinks, is more important than the actual way this could be done.

They cam allow you to integrate with Power BI abilities to call integrate dashboard directly on your App, too

2) for model-driven app. As I remembered, model-driven apps can view users' information and data by clicking their name in dashboard.
