HOTSPOT -
You have a Microsoft 365 subscription that uses a default domain named contoso.com.
Three files were created on February 1, 2019, as shown in the following table.

On March 1, 2019, you create two retention labels named Label1 and Label2.
The settings for Lable1 are configured as shown in the Label1 exhibit. (Click the Label1 tab.)

The settings for Lable2 are configured as shown in the Label2 exhibit. (Click the Label2 tab.)

You apply the retention labels to Exchange email, SharePoint sites, and OneDrive accounts.
For each of the following statements, select Yes if the statement is true. Otherwise, select No.
NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer:
Box 1: No -
Retention overrides deletion.

Box 2: No -
Content in a document library will be moved to the first-stage Recycle Bin within 7 days of disposition, and then permanently deleted another 93 days after that.
Thus 100 days in total.

Box 3: No -
Items in an Exchange mailbox will be permanently deleted within 14 days of disposition.

Answers are correct NO-NO-NO, but explanations are wrong. Box 1 - No, because retention always takes precedence over deletion. Box 2 - Unless the disposition reviewer actually choses to delete the file, the disposition review will remain there (as a pending item to review), along with the file in its original container. No deletion. Box 3 - The only automatic thing happening here, is a disposition review. Nothing else. Don't mind the Label2 deletion policy, as this one is pretty much avoided because of Label1.

During a disposition review, the content never moves from its original location, and it's not marked for permanent deletion until this action is selected by a reviewer for the final or only disposition stage. NNN

With file 3 will it not not be deleted as retention has expired (its been retained 2 years) and deletion is after 1 year, it can now be deleted by the policy?

A disposition review can include content in Exchange mailboxes, SharePoint sites, and OneDrive accounts. Content pending a disposition review in those locations is permanently deleted only after a reviewer for the final stage of disposition chooses to permanently delete the content.

Answers are correct and explanations are totally wrong as ExamReviewerIZ stated. His explanations are correct. Label 2 is irrelevant b/c it automatically gets trumped by the Retention Policy that is of the same length.

Retention wins over Deletion?

Absolutely! Disposition is a method of retaining until processed. So nothing gets deleted until processed.
