You don't run the install when you're preparing the environment. Create the download config. Download using the config. Restrict downloading from M365. ABE

You need to reference the xml in the setup.exe install which you can't do unless you create it in the first case. Personally in the past I've done this with ABD.

You mean reference for the network share? This is done by option B (specify in the XML file). Option D is not necessary for that. But you have to restrict downloads, so option E has to be checked. -> ABE

Yep been looking at this a while now and I agree. You can restrict downloads in admin portal > settings > org settings > Office Installation options > Installation tab

Right, 1) create, file, downloadconfig.xml, 2) download created file, setup.exe /download downloadconfig.xml 3) From portal configure to avoid users can download, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/manage-software-download-settings-office-365 4) ,copy downloadconfig.xml file and rename it as installconfig.xml, 5) run, setup.exe /configure installconfig.xml they ask for three actions, so ... IMHO ABE

The correct answers should be ABD. I have been doing this for ages. First you need to create a configuration XML file. Go to https://config.office.com and create a new XML configuration file that suites your needs. After that you save the file (i.e., download it locally) The second step is to use the ODT to download the Office packages as stated in your XML configuration file by running SETUP.EXE /DOWNLOAD Name_Of_XML.XML. This will download the exact Office version with the parameters you created in step 1. After some time, the folder will contain the Office installation files ready to setup The question states: "You need to prepare the environment to ensure that all Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise installations occur from a network share", and this is done by copying the entire folder on a network share, and then running SETUP.EXE /CONFIG Name_Of_XML.XML, this will install Office from your network share and not from other sources

This is not correct. You missing the fact that you need to "PREVENT the users from installing Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise from the Internet" which is done by option E. .First of all, question doesn't says that you need to install O365. Second, even if you install O365 from network share by setup.exe /config, it will not prevent users to install other O365 Apps from internet.

Yeah i agree with Velda. Initially i thought it was ABD, but the question did not require you to install. So no need for D. Answer is ABE.

I'll go with the answer provided. First the question reads you need to make sure that Office installs from a share. I will assume that there already is a share with the installation files in place. Leaving out the installation itself does not ensures all M365 app installation occur from a network share and leaving out E does not prevents installations over the internet so seems pretty clear to me.

Answer should be A, B, and D. This must be an old question with very different results than when I set this up in test. 1. Create the XML file (for ODT) This sets up the parameters for installing Office on your local system. What languages, whether to use a FallbackCDN, and where the installation source is located. In this case it'll be on a local share. 2. Run .\setup.exe /download .\ODT_XML_Install.xml (From PowerShell) This downloads the installation based on the configuration in the XML to an "Office" folder from where you launch the ODT setup.exe from. 3. Run .\setup.exe /configure .\ODT_XML_Install.xml (From PowerShell) Finally, the '/configure' tells ODT to do the actual install using the same configuration in the XML. I don't see anywhere in M365 to disable downloads. So I'm thinking MS has changed this and the question answers are likely different by now. - ODT XML Creation: https://config.office.com/deploymentsettings - ODT Overview: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/office2019/deploy

The answers are between ABD and ABE, for me I will go for ABE, as the question ask to PREVENT users from connecting to the internet. This word make E a must to be selected. Correct me if I was wrong.

Sort of a disingenuous question since really there should be FOUR steps. Since it's "prepare" and not "do the whole job" the given answer is correct though.

I sorry but, if the source of installation is avaiable from the network, why we have to download the setup to our computer? Is not installable over network? I think that the answer is correct

I think ABE is the correct solution. E is needed to prevent users to download the office suite from the internet. I guess there is some kind of typo because the right option stays under M365 Admin Center > Settings > Org-wide settings > Office installation options but this disables the "Download Office" option that appers in every user office home page. For what concerns the rest, is required to prepare the environment to distribute Office and not to install it on computers, so D is not needed in this case. Instead is necessary to create a custom XML with the Office Customization Tool (B), place it in a shared folder and call the setup.exe in download mode (A).

I agree! ABE is correct for me. If there will be possible to check 4 correct options, answers will be ABDE. But there are 3 and the question says that you need JUST PREPARE the environment. Therefore D is not the necessary option (you don't need to install O365 yet). But what question says that you have to do is: 1. Create XML file - you can configure NETWORK SHARE download location in the XML config file - option B. 2. Download O365 - it will be PREPARED on network share with specified parameters (in the XML file) - option A. Reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/overview-office-deployment-tool#download-the-installation-files-for-office-365-proplus-from-a-local-%20source 3. "PREVENT the users from installing Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise from the Internet" which is done by option E.
