Content in a document library will be moved to the first-stage Recycle Bin within 7 days of disposition, and then permanently deleted another 93 days after that.

✑If there are multiple auto-apply retention label policies that could apply a retention label, and the content meets the conditions of multiple policies, the retention label for the oldest auto-apply retention label policy (by date created) is selected. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/retention?view=o365-worldwide#only-one-retention-label-at-a-time ✑A disposition review can include content in Exchange mailboxes, SharePoint sites, and OneDrive accounts. Content pending a disposition review in those locations is permanently deleted only after a reviewer for the final stage of disposition chooses to permanently delete the content. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/securitycompliance/disposition-reviews

please ignore the first part of my comment. In regards to Statements "File1 will be deleted..." and "File3 will be deleted..." he is what I found as some users mention Precedence. after creating a retention label compliance.microsoft.com > Data lifecycle management > Microsoft 365 > Labels."You apply the retention labels to Exchange..." creating a label policy .. > Microsoft 365 > Label policies. The principles of retention, or what takes precedence? 1.Retention wins over deletion. -if conflicts remain 2.Longest retention period wins. -if conflicts remain 3.Explicit wins over implicit for deletions. -if conflict remain 4.Shortest deletion period wins https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/retention?view=o365-worldwide#the-principles-of-retention-or-what-takes-precedence

Weird question. You can assign multiple labels to a single policy and retention wins over deletion. SO NNN is the best choice a gues..

This has to be the worst question so far. The question does not mention permanent deletion, but the answer does... So, it does not make sense

There is nothing in the Question about Soft- and Harddelete so why should the answer include the retention times of Exchange or Sharepoint? I would go with N Y Y - because the FIles are getting soft deleted wich is some kind of deletion. Aside from that you can change the retention times for example in Exchange Online from default 14 up to 30 days https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/exchange/recipients-in-exchange-online/manage-user-mailboxes/change-deleted-item-retention

The explanations and question really do not make any sense. What has the recycle bin to do with an automatic deletion!? The question does not ask if the document gets retained or is accessible in some bin, but if the document gets deleted.

I don't understand this question - The rule is "Only one retention label at a time. An email or document can have only a single retention label applied to it at a time. " - see link in Ref: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/retention?view=o365-worldwide --> so how can we know which retention label is for which File? 2nd link about Disposition review says: "Content pending a disposition review in those locations is permanently deleted only after a reviewer for the final stage of disposition chooses to permanently delete the content." So there is no such option like move to Recycle Bin and delete item after number of days

Agreed, you can have multiple retention policies assigned to a content, but you can have only one retention label assigned to a content. I think when in doubt, just keep to the principle of retention wins over deletion and apply whatever policy that fits that principle.

I don't understand the answer for Box 3. Is it saying File3 won't be deleted automatically or that it won't be deleted after February 1, 2021? Disposition would take place on 1 February 2021 and, if the user doesn't complete the review, the file would be deleted on 15 February 2021, which would be both automatic and after February 1.

Label 1 makes a requirement of dispositions. Dispositions do not expire.
