Answer seems correct: Install on Server 2 Authorise Server 1 Run PS1 on Server 1 - Run the tool interactively, from the server to be configured to communicate with the RMS connector. Tip: This is useful for a one-off configuration, such as a testing environment. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/information-protection/configure-servers-rms-connector

AIP was depricated last year and will completely change to Microsoft Information Protection unified labeling platform by the end of next month. (see notice here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/information-protection/aip-classification-and-protection

There is something I don't get. The question states: You need to ensure that you can apply Azure Information Protection labels to the file stores on Server1. So why would any part of the answers contain server2? What does server2 have to do with this scenario?

Server 2 is the RMS connector server on-premises. Hence the tool will be installed on Server 2.

Server 1 has FSRM installed and possibly File Classification. "Important: Do not install the connector on a computer that runs Exchange Server, SharePoint Server, or a file server that is configured for file classification infrastructure" Reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/information-protection/deploy-rms-connector#prerequisites-for-the-rms-connector
