Selected Answer: B
The issue lies in the automatic assignment of the non-inventoried computer to the buildings fixed asset group. In Dynamics 365 Finance, fixed asset determination rules (B) are responsible for mapping purchase items (including non-inventoried items via procurement categories) to specific fixed asset groups during the creation of fixed assets. If the determination rule for the procurement category or item used for the computer purchase is incorrectly set to the buildings fixed asset group, this would cause the observed error. Checking and correcting these rules will resolve the issue.

In my previous blogs, I have touched on the different module integrations with fixed assets. However, I have not discussed a great feature called fixed asset determination rules. These rules combine the functionality of procurement and sourcing, product information management and fixed assets to allow users to automatically create fixed assets from purchase orders when selecting a procurement category. The determination rules take the guess work out of the users hands to ensure that these assets are properly recorded in your system https://www.loganconsulting.com/blog/fixed-asset-determination-rules-in-d365-for-finance-and-operations/
