Answer is correct D , make the CIDR or address space for VNET bigger , tested in lab

Agree, you should create a new subnet.. but you don't have enough space.

This question has changed, the original one was asking what are two ways to achieve this goal, which would be C and D respectively. I am unsure as to why the question has changed though

Selected Answer: D
D is Correct as Subnet cannot be expanded when it is having some resources already assigned in the subnet, however VNET can be expanded. In this case, it can be expanded from /24 to /22 or less and it works fine

The answer is not 100% correct. You can't simply change an existing address space, but you can add a new address space, which would 'change' the address space used by the VNet in theory, but it's by ADDING, not CHANGING.

I think the answer is B - Modify the address space of the subnet. If we use CIDR we can get 2 /27 networks and 3 /26 networks from 10.1.1.0/24 so the VNET1 address stays the same (10.1.1.0/24). 10.1.1.0/26 assigned to Subnet 1 10.1.1.64/26 - Free 10.1.1.128/26 - Free 10.1.1.192/27 - Free 10.1.1.224/27 assigned to the GatewaySubnet We still have extra networks for if we need to create more subnets. If we modify the VNET1 address space we will need to modify the Subnet also, there's no way to modify the VNET1 address space where the Subnet address will remain at 10.1.1.0/24 but we can modify the Subnet address space and the VNET address remains as 10.1.1.0/24

I think B is correct but I don’t like the wording. You technically need to add another address space/expand VNET. You cannot create GW cause there is no address space available. You cannot delete (because of the VM) or modify subnet. This leaves us B.

I believe either change subnet address to decrease it or change vnet subnet to increase it, both should be OK

Sorry about that, subnet address can't be changed as long as there is VM connected to it, the only option will be to change address space for the VNet and extend it Given anseer is correct

Answer is D Modify the address space used by VNET1 so that you can create a GatewaySubnet. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/vpn-gateway/vpn-gateway-about-vpn-gateway-settings#gwsub

I believe it is C - "The gateway subnet must be named 'GatewaySubnet' to work properly. Naming the gateway subnet 'GatewaySubnet' lets Azure know that this is the subnet to deploy the virtual network gateway VMs and services to." ref. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/vpn-gateway/vpn-gateway-about-vpn-gateway-settings

but there is no enough address space remain to accommodate another subnet. So need to modify Vnet address space

You can add more address space to the V-Net. This would then allow you to create another subnet.

@rfox321, you cant deploy the gateway cos there are not enough IP space left to create another subnet for the gateway. The gateway requires its own subnet

Give answer is correct, you can modify the adressspace if the subnet adressspace passes within the range otherwise you cant create Gatewaysubnet as it will conflict with the subnet1 adressspace

Why "Modify the address space used by Subnet1" also a good answer? There are no other resources that are affected by this

I believe it’s C. I perceived there was a subnet overlap, but after further analysis, It’s the address space, not subnet. The address space is simply what you can use. Any thoughts?
