As per following line in link given by nfett, A seems correct answer. The integration of Azure Backup in the Windows Admin Center is ideal for backing up volumes and the Windows System state on-premises Windows physical or virtual servers. This makes for a comprehensive mechanism to backup File Servers, Domain Controllers and IIS Web Servers.

I'm going No, because there's nothing in the question saying that data loss is acceptable if the server fails, such as when restoring from the latest backup. Azure File Sync meets the requirement.

I think one interesting bit about the question is that Server is defined as a file server, and the question is about recovering its "files" in case Server 1 fails. Using Azure Backup, there are limitation dealing with: 1. back up interval - it cannot be stream-like / near real-time 2. size limit - 54,400 GB per volume is the limit on Win Srv 2019. And a file server would very much likely to burst that limit. I understand Azure Backup may be able to "back up", but the limits and caveats are many. I'd vote for 'No' here.

This confused me as I thought both were correct. As I see it ,the answer is correct because of the line "recover files from azure". Using azure backup via windows admin does allow file, volume and system state recovery but only to the original server or another server (with backup agent registered). granular file restores being mounted in windows as a virtual disk. What does everyone else think?

" and configure Azure Backup." - Does that mean installing Azure Backup Agent (MARS) onto the server? In which case the answer is A, as this will allow granular instant file recovery.

I choice "B". Azure Backup is a service that is expected to be used as a backup for VMs. In this question File server data recovery is expected. So Azure File Sync is the answer and the answer is no.

From the below link, it is clear that it is possible to backup an on-premises file server using Azure Backup. But the question is about backuping or recovering the files, not the server itself? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/manage/windows-admin-center/azure/azure-backup

You will need to install MARS agent. The policy for files and folder backup using the MARS agent is specified in the MARS console

Should also be Yes, since this will allow the files to be available on Azure, thus satisfying the requirement. Not sure why there is so many incorrect answers for these...
