[All 70-742 Questions]

Your network contains two Active Directory forests named fabrikam.com and contoso.com. Each forest contains a single domain.
Contoso.com has a Group Policy object (GPO) named Cont_GPO1.
You need to apply the settings from Cont_GPO1 to the computers in fabrikam.com.
Which two actions should you perform? Each correct answer presents a complete solution.
NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.

  • A. Back up Cont_GPO1. In fabrikam.com, create and link a new GPO by using the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC), and then run the Import Settings Wizard.
  • B. Back up Cont_GPO1. In fabrikam.com, run the Restore-GPO cmdlet, and then run the New-GPLink cmdlet.
  • C. Back up Cont_GPO1. In fabrikam.com run the Import-GPO cmdlet, and then run the New-GPLink cmdlet.
  • D. Copy\\contoso.com\SysVol\contoso.com\Policies to \\fabrikam.com\SysVol\ fabrikam.com\Policies. In fabrikam.com, run the New-GPLink cmdlet.
  • E. Back up Cont_GPO1. In fabrikam.com, create and link a new GPO by using the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC), and then run the Restore Group Policy Object Wizard.

From the official Microsoft reference: Import a GPO: The import process requires that you effectively restore the settings of another GPO into a newly created, empty GPO. The process therefore starts with you creating a backup of the source GPO. Then, to import the settings, use the following procedure: 1. In the Group Policy Management console on the target domain, create a new GPO in the Group Policy Objects node. 2. Right-click the new GPO, and then click Import Settings. 3. In the Import Settings Wizard, on the Backup GPO page, click Next. You do not need to back up your GPO because it currently contains no settings. 4. On the Backup location page, select the folder where you backed up your source GPO, and click Next. 5. On the Source GPO page, select the appropriate GPO from the Backed Up GPOs list, and then click Next. 6. Click through the wizard to complete the import process. Click Finish when prompted. You can also use the import-gpo Windows PowerShell cmdlet. For example, to import the IT Managers GPO from the \\LON-DC1\Backup folder to a new GPO called Sales Managers, use the following command:

Why are A *and* C correct? You would only need to do this one time, using one of the noted procedures (either A or C)...

The link you proposed says after copy the exported GPO to destination domain, import it using import-GPO. I couldn't find your explanation in the link that after copy the exported GPO, link it using New-GPLink. Please tell us where does the link say so ?

This copies all gp's from one domain to another, it's not what we need. A and C are correct.

I think correct answer is A and C just like example answer. The link for A is as below. http://microsoftgeek.com/?p=2540 The link for C is as below. https://devblogs.microsoft.com/scripting/use-powershell-to-import-group-policy-objects/ However, I don't understand the aim of this question that we should perform two actions. I think it’s necessarily to perform A or C, instead A and C. In this case should it express that select two options ?
