Do not confuse the Close Inventory Period – Test with the Close Inventory Period Action. The correct steps are: Adjust Cost – Item Entries Post Inventory to G/L And last Close the Period

Either the answer provided is correct or ValeriaM answer is correct. You have to Post Stock Cost to G/L before you close the period. What you see in the documentation was a Close Stock Period – Test (not the actual close). This is a simulation to see if there are unposted costs. If there are, you have to post them before you finally close the period.

I don't think you've read the documentation reference correctly. It says to run a test inventory close before posting stock to the GL. Once you've done this, then you close the inventory period.

This answer is correct, looking at the documentation reference also.

I think that this is not correct. I would have chosen: 1.Adjust Cost - item entries (you can post to G/L in the same windows), 2. Close inventory periods, 3. Include Expected costs (because the customer wants to include inventory received not invoiced).

I somewhat agree with this, however there appears to be a step missing. The option to 'Include Expected Costs' is on the Inventory Valuation Report, right? Seeing as there isn't an action option related to the generation of the actual report, I think the provided solution is the best choice.

Ensure that expected costs are posted to the general ledger to see from the interim G/L accounts an estimate of the amounts due and the cost of the traded items before they are actually invoiced. Include Expected cost should be used in step 2 for inventory valuation instead of the Adjust Cost – Item Entries

Actually, I re-read the options and I now think your answer is more correct.

I agree with you, according to Microsoft documentation that is the correct process.
