Correct answer is A, adding c:\Folder1 to File History WILL allow you to use the Previous Versions on that folder. Assuming you are able to turn File History on in the first place.

Good luck! Try it! -> That option doesnt exist. You can only exclude folders (from libraries). File history backs up libraries (lice "documents") and everything in there to a NW locatation or a USB drive. Thats it.

Basically, only settings you have in file history is turning it on/off, select which drive it stores the back-up, the interval and folders to exclude. I repeat: Exclude. Once turned on it will backup only libraries. So folders you want to include should be added to a library. So in my opinion there is no such thing as 'Adding D:\Folder1 to File History', therefore I would choose 'No' for this answer.

Tested in an 1809 lab and the option is available. Turn on File History, choose More Options and scroll down to the included folders and using the Add option, you can add any folder you want.

To clarify: You can't add folders to File History using the File History control panel item. You can add folders to File History using the Settings menu (Start > Settings > Update & Security > Backup > More Options) So it seems to me A is correct.

Selected Answer: B
The answer need to be B, you cannot add a folder to file history! You can only add them to a Library or add them to Backup and Restore. The result will be that these folders will get previous verions.

Just tested. Answer is correct. "File History only backs up copies of files that are in the Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos, and Desktop folders and the OneDrive files available offline on your PC. If you have files or folders elsewhere that you want backed up, you can add them to one of these folders." You need to go in the "Settings > Backup" and choose “Backup using File History” to add the required additional folders apart from default folders for Backing up using File History.

For those who say that's not possible, you need to go in the "Settings > Backup", and not in the module in Control Panel

Lots of people are saying that you can't add to File History, you can. I've just tested it on a win10 2004. Also, before adding the folder to File History, the Previous Versions tab was available and it gets enabled when you turn on File History. Last, if you look at the description under the Previous Version tab in the properties of the folder, it says: "Previous versions come from File History or from restore points". Side note: IF (big IF) you can't add Folder1 to File History for whatever reason, when you move the folder to the Documents library it gets backed up as part of that library.

The previous versions feature in Windows 10 allows you to restore a previous version of files, folders, and drives that were saved or backed up as part of a restore point, File History, and/or Windows Backup.

File History only backs up copies of files that are in the Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos, and Desktop folders and the OneDrive files available offline on your PC. If you have files or folders elsewhere that you want backed up, you can add them to one of these folders. You have to add Folder1 to one of the known folders above, thats why the answer should be NO.

DrDoom is correct. You can either turn it off or on. "File History only backs up copies of files that are in the Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos, and Desktop folders and the OneDrive files available offline on your PC. If you have files or folders elsewhere that you want backed up, you can add them to one of these folders." https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17128/windows-8-file-history

The BEST option in this case is mirroring data on OneDrive. It keeps different previous versions of files.

I think question 18/19/20 are all YES. Adding the folder to File History Works, adding it to the document library works and adding it to backups works.

Yes, cant understand why this will be B. If you add the folder yourself to file history, it should be in Previous Verions. Other method is to do it in the settings app and add it as an extra Backup folder in the Backup setting!
