Your network contains an Active Directory domain named contoso.com. The domain contains servers that run Windows Server 2016 and client computers that run
Windows 10. The naming conventions for the computers and the servers is inconsistent.
You plan to create a Group Policy object (GPO) named GPO1 and to link GPO1 to the domain. GPO1 will contain custom Group Policy preference settings.

I'm wondering a little if nobody has a Test-Lab or if the question is not worth looking two Minutes into your Lab: If you open a GPO and go to Comptuer confoig -> Prefernces -> Add an Item Then go to Item Level targeting options. Then you choose Operations System, there you can select Product Edition Release Computer Role -> If you selected a Server Product you can choose here: Member Server or Domain Controller or Any. So C ist defnitily correct regards

I think it is correct this one as you can choose computer role under the operating system targeting and so can exclude the domain controllers https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2008-R2-and-2008/cc753566%28v%3dws.10%29

Member servers can be joined to the domain, they are not DC's, that is their distinction. So you can not choose the domain item-level option.

Ex. Computer role: "Member Server: A domain-joined computer running any release of Windows Server..."

I think that C is correct. I agree with Dean because the member servers can be specified by operation system item. I disagree with dan because the member servers can't be specified by domain item.

I'm with spud on this one. The question requires that member servers are targeted; Operating System Targeting includes Computer Role= member server, which best satisfies the requirements.

I was able to find a better link for the fact that item level targeting can be domain based: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2012-r2-and-2012/dn581922(v%3Dws.11) at the bottom of this link ITL has the domain option.

spud your link explicitly points to to all OS'S windows 7 to 2012 R2 except for windows 2016 and windows 10. I think the answer is still E

I think this one is wrong. It should be E - domain as we have the same OS for all server but not for client computers. But all client computers and Domain Contollers are Domain based and we are tryin to exclude Member server: link: http://wahlnetwork.com/2010/11/13/item-level-targeting-with-group-policy-preferences-gpp/

C is ok An Operating System targeting item allows a preference item to be applied to computers or users only if the processing computer's operating system's product name, release, edition, or ****** computer role ******* matches those specified in the targeting item. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2008-R2-and-2008/cc753566(v=ws.10)
