You plan to archive 10 TB of on-premises data files to Azure. You need to recommend a data archival solution. The solution must minimize the cost of storing the data files. Which Azure Storage account type should you include in the recommendation?
Suggested Answer:A🗳️
Standard StorageV2 supports the Archive access tier, which would be the cheapest solution. Incorrect Answers: C, D: Each Premium storage account offers 35 TB of disk and 10 TB of snapshot capacity Reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/storage-introduction
i'm always confused about this premium storage V2 stuff in questions. What is this exactly?
if you are talking about storage account type, the newest types are
1. storage GP V2
2. premium types
2.1 premium block blob
2.2 premium file shares
2.3 premium page blobs
for legacy type, they are standard GP v1 and standard blob storage
if you are talking about storage performance tiers, yes it has standard and premium
Standard performance tier supports General purpose v2, general purpose v1, legacy blob
Premium performance tier supports Premium block blob
if you talk about storage access tiers, it's hot, cold and archive
if you talk about storage services, they are blob, data lake, queue or table etc
SO WHAT THE HELL IS THIS PREMIUM STORAGE V2?
Storage accounts in a premium performance tier use solid-state drives (SSDs) for low latency and high throughput.
If you read this, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/blobs/storage-blob-performance-tiers
Premium performance tier does NOT support GP V2 type
i think it's an old stuff now upgraded in Azure but still present in the exam questions. Azure is a platform continuing evolving so i think it's normal to find some discrepancies between the current and the exam
