You have a Microsoft Exchange Online tenant that contains the following email domains:
✑ Adatum.com
✑ Contoso.com
✑ Fabrikam.com
When external recipients receive email messages from the users in the tenant, all the messages are delivered by using the @contoso.com email domain.
You need to ensure that the users send email by using the @fabrikam.com email domain.
Solution: From the Microsoft 365 portal, you set fabrikam.com as the default domain.
Does this meet the goal?

  • A. No
  • B. Yes
Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A 🗳️
Changing the default domain would only affect new users. To affect existing users, you need to run the Set-Mailbox cmdlet.

Selected Answer: A
should modify the email address policy The first default domain is used as the primary address for all recipients in the default email address policy. If you configure another accepted domain as the default domain, the default email address policy isn't automatically updated.

I added a domain to a Test-Tenant, made it default and all the existing Cloud-Users with mailboxes did not change their Email-Address or their UPN to the new default Domain. So its cleary NO. How every Exchange Online has no E-Mail Address Policies, so you would either need to script this or use the OnPrem Email-Address-Policies and AzureAD-Sync
