Your network contains an Active Directory forest.

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd728017(v=ws.10).aspx dcdiag.exe /test:DNS /DnsRecordRegistration This command verifies registration of the following resource records in DNS: -alias (CNAME): the globally unique identifier (GUID)-based resource record that locates a replication partner -host (A): the host resource record that contains the IP address of the domain controller -LDAP SRV: the service (SRV) resource records that locate LDAP servers -GC SRV: the service (SRV) resource records that locate global catalog servers -PDC SRV: the service (SRV) resource records that locate primary domain controller (PDC) emulator operations masters dcdiag.exe /test:DNS Verifying dynamic update If the basic DNS test shows that resource records do not exist in DNS, use the dynamic update test to determine why the Net Logon service did not register the resource records automatically. To verify that the Active Directory domain zone is configured to accept secure dynamic updates and to perform registration of a test record (_dcdiag_test_record), use the following procedure. The test record is deleted automatically after the test.

I agree, B & E assuming on the exam the command is shown correctly (dcdiag.exe /test:DNS /DnsRecordRegistration). I can't see that connectivity test queries SRV record results.

I think B and C should be correct B: /test:DNS [DNS test] Performs the specified DNS test. If no test is specified, defaults to /DnsAll. c: is also a working commando but e does not work ... https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2012-r2-and-2012/cc731968(v%3Dws.11)

The reason E does not work is because the correct command is : dcdiag.exe /DnsRecordRegistration and not what's listed. But yeah, both B and C work and should be the correct answers in this question.

connectivity test is performed by default and cannot be skipped. /test:DNS performs the specified DNS test. If none specified it defaults to /DnsAll which would also include /DnsRecordRegistration. DnsRecordRegistration checks if SRV records are registered. So, /test:DNS and /test:DnsRecordRegistration seem to be the correct ones here.

The correct answer it's B "dcdiag.exe /test:DNS" and E "dcdiag.exe /test:DnsRecordRegistration (typo, correct is dcdiag.exe /test:DNS /DnsRecordRegistration). This link talks about DnsRecordRegistration. And / test: DNS tests everything. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2012-r2-and-2012/cc731968(v=ws.11)

Well, in my lab dcdiag.exe /test:DnsRecordRegistration isn't a valid command. However, these are: dcdiag.exe /DnsRecordRegistration dcdiag.exe /test:Dns I deleted all the "SRV" records, and restarted DNS server, and both these command generated lots of new errors. Unfortunately, " /DnsRecordRegistration" isn't the exact syntax in the exam choices, so people are going to have to decide if this was just a typo or intentional misuse by MS to trick

I would say B and E. just looked on Microsoft's page about this and test:connectivity doesn't even seem to be an option https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2012-r2-and-2012/cc731968(v%3Dws.11)
