Your company has an Exchange Online tenant that contains 2,000 mailboxes.
A partner company named Fabrikam, Inc. uses a third-party messaging solution. The outbound SMTP server for Fabrikam uses an IP address of 131.107.2.22.
You discover that several email messages from the fabrikam.com domain are erroneously marked as spam.
You need to ensure that all the email messages sent from the fabrikam.com domain are delivered successfully to the user mailboxes of your company.
Solution: You create a connection filter.
Does this meet the goal?

  • A. Yes
  • B. No
Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: B 🗳️
You can allow the server IP address in the Connection Filter. This would achieve the objective of ensuring all email from Fabrikam.com is delivered. However, it would also allow any other company that uses the third-party email server to bypass the spam filter.
The fact that the question specifies that Fabrikam uses a ג€third-party messaging solutionג€ suggests that the answer to this question should be No although technically it would work.

Selected Answer: A
So the answer is A?? Question-Explanation: You need to ensure that all the email messages sent from the fabrikam.com domain are delivered successfully to the user mailboxes of your company. Solution: You create a connection filter. Or in other words a Mail Flow. Question: Does this meet the goal? Given answer: B (NO) Explanation: You can allow the server IP address in the Connection Filter. ...suggests that the answer to this question should be No although technically it would work. OK I'll explain in human language: Question asks if you create mailflow will you what you desire(Question-Explanation). Answer states this is invalid answer (answer NO) although technically it will achieve what it asked (answer YES)... SO I guess someone in Exam topics didn't had a morning coffee because the answer is clearly YES.

correct answer is B "The least desirable option is to use the allowed sender list or allowed domain list in anti-spam policies. You should avoid this option if at all possible because senders bypass all spam, spoof, and phishing protection, and sender authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC). This method is best used for temporary testing only." https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/office-365-security/create-safe-sender-lists-in-office-365?view=o365-worldwide

The 3rd party filtering solution can contain domains of other customers using the same IP address. But essentially adding the IP address to the connection filter will allow all mail from Fabricam. So A is correct
