The correct answer is to click on "-", I think it's D but the browser shows it as â€"

Shouldn't we be collapsing instead of expanding????? The product category is at the top of the hierarchy in the data model so expanding doesn't make sense.

Yes, you're right, it should be collapse, but this cannot be achieved on the right click o a bar. Moreover, I have created a Pivot Chart and on the right side I have a + - buttons that are NOT displayed on the exhibit. From the presented options, my browser does not display correctly the option D (I see strange characters) but if "-" (minus) sign is presented, this could be the option.

link attached says "– appears to represent the hyphen character" So I guess correct option is D https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/translating-unusual-characters-back-to-normal/a819a82f-dad8-4072-bb05-49c087d4d6b2

Tested, D right. Create hierarchy of product/subCat/Cat (Row/Axis area in the field lists). Layer 1: category Layer 2: subcategory Layer3: particular product “+” means more layer, which goes deep down to layer 3; “-“ means less layer, which goes backward to the layer 2, and layer 1.

Unclear request: If they want to see the visualized data of that specific category, then they are right. Unfortunately the +/- Field Buttons disappears when clicking on the bar. If they just want (out of a hierarchical perspective) to see the data of the ProductCategory layer, then push “–“ Button. You can also just use the Product Field Buttons and sort it there.
