i would say: A and B C: this should not be the problem, if the users are able to open chat with external users from another tenant that means that both companies have the open federation or they have already configured the allowed domains.

This is correct. Users in Islands mode can use only SfB to communicate any external party. TeamsOnly mode would solve this issue as well, so B correct.

When recipients are in Islands: chats and calls initiated from Teams land in S4B if recipient is federated https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-and-skypeforbusiness-coexistence-and-interoperability

I´d say A and C A - Interop should work between Island and Teams mode https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-and-skypeforbusiness-coexistence-and-interoperability#federation C - Is does not say the user should add the federation. But adding federation in Tenant is required. Assume that its only configured onprem. both options would enable the two federated user to communicate with each other. wrong: B - as user cannot change the mode (only admin) D - there is no change on User B side - so why to sign out? E - Not possible, as user is in Teams Only Mode

Correct answer for me is B&C. Had a the same problem in my organisation and we changed individual user coexistence mode to TeamsOnly (set to Islands mode previously). As the other answers dont sound right. In this scenario, it may be the organisation is allowing/blocking domains. A is incorrect - After upgrading to Teams Only mode, all messages and calls from outside your organization are delivered to Teams D is incorrect - Signing in/out will not resolve the issue as the 2 organisations are in different coexistence modes E is incorrect - The process of upgrading to Teams only mode is irreversible. There's no direct way to revert TeamsOnly to Islands mode

I think the answer is A and B. Note: Federation is already enabled as User B is able to receive User A messages. Hence we don't need to add any domains in any company. (As mentioned by IgorMatic in discussion) B : Obviously as moving user to Teams mode will enable Teams to Teams external chat A : In Islands mode all external chats and calls are received on Skype. Hence it is recommended users in Islands mode use SFB for all communications with External users/numbers. In other words, Island modes gives users 2 endpoint (teams/SFB) wherein SFB client is preferred for external comms.

Careful there, it says "UserA send a Teams message" not SFB. Not sure how UserA is going to change their coexistence mode to TeamsOnly if NOT Admin? lol

I think C and D should be the answers. Everything else is mentioned in the scenario except the federation setting. I think that is missing which can be explained if C and D are done.

The answers are incorrect. Changing co-existence mode is not an option for end user. Then Company B is in TeamsOnly mode and how would user use SFB client to chat with UserA? The screen capture where it says "Due to Org Policy changes, some chat and calling features are no longer available. Continue your conversation here" that the tenant has been switched to TeamsOnly and it requires backend replication. However the question is misleading saying that CompanyA is in Islands mode. The better answer I can think here is A and C.

Given answers are wrong. User cannot change his own Coex mode so B is wrong, only an Admin can. E also makes no sense as users company is Teams Only and cannot use Skype. So it has to rather be C&D, because the Teams to Teams federation seems to have a problem.

Maybe because it says: "CompanyB configures Teams to use TeamsOnly mode". This is a Tenant setting, but maybe the user has setting up a different coexistence mode
