No is correct, because you should prevent users to export data from here Power Bi Admin Portal -> Tenant Settings -> Export data

"No" is correct, but if you close the export data from the tenant settings, you will prevent all users along with User1. I mean this way is not right. If you remove User1 from the "Contoso PowerBI" security group (not "All Users"), you will prevent User1 and achieve the desired result.

Tenant settings is correct as you can disable export for a particular security group. Also, this setting was previously in Office 365 but it has moved to Power BI Admin Portal this year in April (I might be wrong), here's a detailed link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-portal#tenant-settings I guess you can change the user privs from here as well

Read question carefully you will understand by yourself. User1 is a member of a security group named "Contoso PowerBI" and has access to a workspace named "Contoso Workspace". You need to prevent User1 from exporting data from the visualizations in "Contoso Workspace". Solution: From the Microsoft Office 365 Admin center, you remove User1 from the "All Users" security group.

Using your solution, if you remove the user from M365, then the answer should be A?

No is a correct answer, because we remove User1 only from "All Users" group. User1 is still in "Contoso PowerBi" group

removing a user1 from all the security group will remove it from the group only. User1 will still access and export it from the report, since user1 has workspace level access

if you remove user1 from "All Users group" or from "Contso Group"...it has nothing to do with preventing "ONLY" from Export underlying data, for that we need to disable a particular capabilities?..so Answer is "NO"

B is correct, only prevent to exporting data, still being able to view the dashboard. So, admin porta -> tenant setting -> export data.

The essence to understanding this question today is that it relates to the classic workspace experience, which was the only one when the question was written.Managing the new workspace experience is a bit different.

You need to distinguish between workspace and security group. In Power BI you can: Add or remove workspace members. In Microsoft 365 you can: Add or remove your workspace's group members. To me it appears that the person remains in the group but loses access to the workspace. hence the removal should happen in Power BI, not M365.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-portal#tenant-settings Seems you have full flexibility to (dis/en)able any group or user.

Solution: From the Microsoft Office 365 Admin center, you modify the properties of Contoso PowerBI. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-manage-app-workspace-in-power-bi-and-office-365

By removing user from security group you remove access to all reports, so just give the read permission could be better solution
