I think the answer is correct. Composite entities can be exposed as XML documents with embedded element tags for enclosed (composed) entities (e.g., for header and for lines). XML is the only way to expose a composite entity in data management.

I would say - entity only, both, composite and both.

Seem like the second should be both: A data entity is a conceptual abstraction and encapsulation of one or more underlying tables. It represents a common data concept or functionality, such as Customers or Vendors. Data entities are intended to be easily understood by users familiar with business concepts. A composite data entity (can only be batched/asynchronous) allows you to build a single entity by leveraging multiple entities that are related to each other. The concept is heavily used in scenarios where an entity can be represented as a single document, like Sales header/line, Invoice header/line and Vendor Catalog.

Composite data entities are only supported in Asynchronous batched integrations. If part 2 is not both, I'd be interested to know how composite data entities are used. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/data-entities/develop-composite-data-entities#what-is-a-composite-entity

Normally batched integration would be implemented for something like a sales or purchase order or some document which has header and lines. I think the answer for second option is "both"
