User1: 5 User2: 5 All file types are permitted in SharePoint Online. Types of files that cannot be added to a list or library (microsoft.com) This question is a bit tricky but the keyword is "visible". All five files will be visible to both users. Some files will be inaccessible (indicated by a block symbol) but will be visible.

Your answer is correct but not the explanation. Two files because one only has one IP reference, so it is not blocked; the second one is the image file.

This is a DLP policy. Not Auto-label policy. All indexable content should be applied to a DLP policy (TXT included) but not JPG, BMP, etc... Label support only Office document extension but this is not the question here.

5-5 as far we agree that user1 and user2 can SEE the files LISTED in the site, they will able to see all of them even after the policy is applied; some will be blocked (a little warning icon will appear next to them) https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/36527.implement-data-loss-prevention-dlp-in-sharepoint-online.aspx

Recreated the scenario presented and User1 (Owner) can see: File1.docx, File4.bmp - normally File2.txt, File3.xlsx - with policy tip (-)Contains sensitive information File5.doc - with policy tip /!\ May contain sensitive information User 1 can see ALL 5 files. User 2 is added to the Visitors SharePoint group - this user is not an Owner nor Member. User 2 can see: File1.docx, File4.bmp normally File5.doc - with policy tip /!\ May contain sensitive information User2 can see 3 files.

Thanks but both .doc and .docx are supported, I don't quite understand why they'd be treated differently. Maybe you didn't give the algorithm enough time to finish the scan?

the provided answer should be correct: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/36527.implement-data-loss-prevention-dlp-in-sharepoint-online.aspx Until the sensitive information has been removed from the user, the document access will be restricted to its owner, last modified and the Site owner. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/exchange/security-and-compliance/mail-flow-rules/inspect-message-attachments if the exchange support type works the same on Sharepoint online, then: User1 : all User2 : 2

This link mentions Sharepoint supported file types for crawlers, which I would assume includes DLP. .doc is under 2 instances and .bmp is not scanned, so 2 files are accessible to User2. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/SharePoint/technical-reference/default-crawled-file-name-extensions-and-parsed-file-types

Owner can still see the files, whether he can access or not, I'm not sure. User 2 can see 2 files because the first only contains one instance and file2 is .txt and unaffected by the policy.

Given link is wrong. Its not mail-flow but DLP. Policy is at least 2 instances before it is blocked. Can't tell if the visitor is member of the Site1. If he is: User 1: 2 User 2: 2

I believe you're correct, though there doesn't appear to be any official documentation on the file types DLP supports in Sharepoint, the reference link seems to be the closest thing and says TXT is supported in Exchange.
