Why not D? we need to ensure that user can connect to Internet without VPN connection

"The solution must ensure that User1 can access the Internet when disconnected from the VPN" My guess is that he should not be able to access the internet because network traffic should go trough proxy server located in corporate network? Otherwise you are right.

This question is one of the most true controversial question and I believe everybody gets wrong in this. If you need to make sure that User1 can access the Internet when disconnected from the VPN, then you will do all the settings through Internet Option inside Control Panel. From out there, inside the VPN settings, you will find VPN, Proxy and Internet configuration as the question is asking us. Letter C would be a far possible answer but I would mark D knowing that I could be blindly wrong.

The User1 has a personal computer. You would find a Dial up issue to deal inside the Internet Options and this ensures everything the question is asking us. I changed my mind about this question. I will mark C with sang-froid :)

No, in that case the computer ALWAYS uses a proxy(setting). But that is not what the question wants.

D. is correct. We have this problem at my shop. If you set the proxy for the machine, it will still be on when you disconnect from the vpn. Result is "Page can not be displayed" :)

Why are there so many incorrect answers? Are they deliberately giving us the wrong ones so we'll fail the exam? I bought a practice test before I discovered this website and that practice test also have the exact same questions and and answers. It's starting to confuse me now.

There is an opinion, that MS specifically spread incorrect answers, to detect cheaters, who use exam dumps.

It's because the people dumping the questions and answers are people taking the test - not insiders or something at Microsoft. Since the test doesn't tell you which questions you got right or wrong, you have to just take the information and run with it. So the answers posted with the question dump may just be poorly researched by the original "dumper."

Agree with D. In the Properties of the VPN you can add a proxy setting. The proxy setting will only be active when the user connects to the VPN. The question is asking for a proxy server which is only operational in the vpn. When disconnected the computer will use the default gateway.

I agree with D, at first, I thought it was B like others. However, this was because I didn't know about the Proxy you can setup specifically for a VPN connection and ONLY works for the VPN connection. If you still disagree, setup a test VPN in the settings app, go to the Advanced Options and you'll see the VPN proxy settings right there.

It is very tricky question, maybe if we read more carefully we can solve it. "the solution must ensure that User1 can access the Internet when disconnected from the VPN." Probably if you configure proxy setting through Settings, it may caused some issues with logic pledged by organization.

Answer D: User1 has a PERSONAL computer, therefore he cannot change the proxy settings on the machine and must change the settings on VPN connection. If this was corporate device answer could be B.

If you go to the Settings app in Windows 10, then Network and Internet and then to Proxy it says that the proxyserver doesn't affect VPN connections, so it has to be answer D.

The answer is D. B is only for WiFi/Lan connections and it even says it is not for VPN connections. https://www.dummies.com/computers/operating-systems/windows-10/how-to-set-up-a-proxy-in-windows-10/

If you change anything in computer's proxy setting it will keep on looking for that proxy even after VPN disconnects hence D is the correct answer.

[ ] A This has nothing to do with firewall settings. [X] B The only place to configure the Windows proxy is from the settings app. [ ] C There is no proxy setting available in the advanced adapter options in the control panel. [ ] D If the proxy is required to get internet access you can't make a VPN connection either.
