From the Microsoft 365 compliance center, you create a content search of a mailbox.
You need to view the content of the mail messages found by the search as quickly as possible.
What should you select from the Content search settings?

  • A. Export report
  • B. Export results
  • C. Re-run
  • D. View results
Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: B 🗳️
There is no 'View Resultsג€ option. You can preview results but that will only show up to 100 emails. To guarantee you're getting all results, you'll need to export them to a PST file.

Correct answer is B Explanation : After you run a search, the number of content locations and an estimated number of search results are displayed on the search flyout page. You can quickly view statistics, such as the content locations that have the most items that match the search query. After you run a search, you can preview the results or export them to a local computer.

I have tested this today and can confirm that after running this, I was given the option to Export report (A) or Export results (B). Export results (B) appears to provide more information so I will go with B.

In the following article there's an option to preview search results, but it's just a sampling. Question didn't say preview it said view the results. Answer B, export results, is correct. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/content-search?view=o365-worldwide#next-steps

"A maximum of 100 items from a single content location (a mailbox or a site) can be previewed. This means that it's possible that less than 1,000 items might be available for preview. For example, if you search four mailboxes and the search returns 1,500 estimated items, only 400 will be available for preview because only 100 items from each mailbox can be previewed." We don't know how many messages we have as output. There is also no information that we should be able to preview the content of all messages. Sampling means previewing selected (randomly) messages (max 100 with one location). If it is less than 101 we can see all of them - there is only one mailbox. I think D might be appropriate.
