A s of today the corrent command would be : Set-CsPhoneNumberAssignment -Identity [email protected] -PhoneNumber +61370105550 -PhoneNumberType DirectRouting The user is automatically Enterprise Voice enabled by the command. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/direct-routing-enable-users

You must consider everything when answering scenarios. Here it says Litware will use a direct routing solution, therefore is -OnPremLineURI. Those babbling about deprecation and stuff should also search with what is going to be substituted with (hint: is NOT LineURI, but a dedicated cmd-let). It's for sure Set-CsUser -OnPremLineURI

The task just says to assign a number to user1 who is at the corporate site. There is no info that this site use Teams Phone System so if user1 is just Sfb the -Lineuri is actually correct. Or am I missing smth?

Once you assign a phone system license to a user with calling plan the users EV is automatically enabled. With just phone system for a DR user you need to enable EV with an on premises phone number. - which is why onlineuri makes the most sense.

Set-csuser and line uri are used primarily for on oprem SFB. WIth the move to SFB online - or Hybrid you will use Set-csOnlinevoiceuser - Telephone . or Set-csuser with Onpremi line uri , the same with Direct Route users.

I think I have come to agree with you.. Corporate sites have users who collaboration with Teams desktop and SPO. Which mean they are teams license. Sip trunks means the sip trunk provider would give numbers on premises numbers. So Set-csuser -Onpremlineuri 0-

I believe this answer is correct as this is not a hybrid configuration. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/skype/set-csuser?view=skype-ps

OnPremLineURI will be deprecated soon, so I'd go with LineURI.

I saw that message about OnPremLineUri being deprecated some time ago but not recently. Using "LineURI" doesn't work if you're running in the cloud - gives the following error: Unable to set "LineURI". This parameter is restricted within Remote Tenant PowerShell

It's -LineURI as the answer, it does work now. You actually now get told to use -LineURI when running the cmdlet and using -OnPremLineURI does NOT work any more.
