Note: This question is part of a series of questions that use the same or similar answer choices. An answer choice may be correct for more than one question in the series. Each question is independent of the other questions in this series. Information and details provided in a question apply only to that question.
You have a DHCP server named Server1 that has an IPv4 scope named Scope1.
Users report that when they turn on their client computers, it takes a long time to access the network.
You validate that it takes a long time for the computers to receive an IP address from Server1.
You monitor the network traffic and discover that Server1 issues five ping commands on the network before leasing an IP address.
You need to reduce the amount of time it takes for the computers to receive an IP address.
What should you do?

  • A. From the properties of Scope1, modify the Conflict detection attempts setting.
  • B. From the properties of Scope1, configure Name Protection.
  • C. From the properties of IPv4, configure the bindings.
  • D. From IPv4, create a new filter.
  • E. From the properties of Scope1, create an exclusion range.
  • F. From IPv4, run the DHCP Policy Configuration Wizard.
  • G. From Control Panel, modify the properties of Ethernet.
  • H. From Scope1, create a reservation.

A. From the properties of Scope1, modify the Conflict detection attempts setting. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee941125.aspx DHCP: IP address conflict detection should have a value of less than 4

For what it's worth, A is probably right. A lot of MS Exams give the answer as basically the very first thing you do. There are some other answers like this (I forget where but they are in these questions and on the test). The answer is not what the last step is but the first step.

I think the given answer (A) is correct. F is excluded. Because it is access control from specified client.

Everyone in here is correct. We can't change the Conflict detection on the scope level, it has to be on the IPv4 level. Try it out. I hope this exact wording isn't in the exam.

Even if it is, it's quite clear that it is the answer, as the question is obviously referring to Conflict Detection attempts, and none of the other answers would apply.

To change the address conflict detection value Click Start, point to Administrative Tools and then click DHCP. In the console tree, expand the applicable DHCP server, right click IPv4, right-click the applicable scope and then click Properties. Click Advanced, type 1, 2 or 3 in Conflict detection attempts: and then click OK.

when you right click on the scope you will not have option to configure Conflict detection settings, this option is only available when you right click on IPv4 then click on properties then click on advance, so the answer is A is wrong. the link that coleman is saying the something. anybody have any other opinion?
