not sure if B is not a better option. You need to stop a backup and then you are able to change the recovery vault.

B is the correct answer. You can't assign a VM with 2 recovery service vaults. So, to setup backup for VM2 by RSV2, we need to stop the backup first and then delete the backup data. After this only, we can associate VM2 with RSV2 for Backup.

This is tested in the lab as well.

Also, Soft delete will be enabled by default when Recovery Services Vault is created, so even if the backup data is deleted, it will stay for 14 more days to recover the deleted backup data. Until this duration, we can't associate VM2 with RSV2 for backup.

I think the key word is "first" of What should you do first? B : For same region. change the RSV1 to RSV2 C : For different region. Use disaster recovery method to protect VM2. According to the tutorial of official web site: 1) Create RSV (RSV2 created) 2) Select source setting of the vault (vault > Site Recovery > Enable replication) <---- answer which has not mentioned. 3) Select the Vms https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/azure-to-azure-tutorial-enable-replication PS: Answer C is the step refer to the quickstarts page, but it hasn't mentioned any creation of the recovery services vault. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/azure-to-azure-quickstart So I think answer should be B. No matter the region is same or not. VM2 can also protected by RSV2. The key point is the step of answer C is not the first step of the question requested.

So, even when you can move it, you have to stop it first. Right?

Answer: B Explanation: A VM can be protected in only one vault at a time. So we need first stop the backup, after that delete(to doesn't save garbage), and after that configure backups in the RSV2 Reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/backup-create-rs-vault#must-preserve-previous-backed-up-data

The information given doesn't stat that VM2 is already in a backup.

I think you could choose both answers (B and C). First at all, the Azure Recovery Service Vault location is not specificaded, so.. If RSV2 were in another region you could protect you VM with that Recovery Service.

I don't think the question about backup. Looks like the disaster recovery protection is mentioned. So the answer is C.

Both B and C are correct, depending on how you want to use RSV2: replace the backup protection of RSV1 or deploy additional protection in the form of VM replication in RSV2

C ( disaster and recovery) is different logical functionality to protect VM. In this question we are asked about RSV ( backup not disaster and recovery) so believe that B is proper answer. You can't backup a VM that is already being backed up by a RSV ( I created second RSV on LAB and there is no option to chose already backuped VM , so you need to stop 1st

Answer should be "B". C is not possible yet all. There is no such "Replication settings" in VM-Disaster Recovery Tab or properties after your VM is enable with replication. If your RSV1 & RSV2 are in the same region, your Disaster Recovery cannot replicate to same region only. So most related and relevant answer here is "B". Since question is not talking about Backup/Disaster, it is easy to answer as "B" or until if there are different options and explanation in Exam Question. I suggest everyone to do Lab if possible to know the concepts better instead of relaying on comments. So that you will be in a position to answer if there is change in question with simple modifications to make it tricky.

I agree the answer should B. I tried to do the option C in the Azure portal. C works only when RSV1 and RSV2 are in different regions, but the question did not state clearly.

RSV should be in the same region as a VM. here in this case since VM2 was protected by RSV1 and requirement is to protect it with RSV2, both RSV's are in the same region which is implied. Therefore Answer is B

Correct answer is C as the questions asking to protect VM2 and you can have Backup to on Resource group and Replica going to another. Backup and Replica are you means to protect a VM on Azure
