User2 = 1000 Device limit restrictions DEM enrolls Windows 10/11 devices in shared device mode, so device limit restrictions won't work on them. Instead, you can configure a hard limit for these devices in the Azure AD admin center.

User 2 can enroll 1000 devices. "DEM enrolls Windows 10/11 devices in shared device mode, so device limit restrictions won't work on them. The device limit restrictions in Intune are configured as shown in the following table. Device limit restrictions DEM enrolls Windows 10/11 devices in shared device mode, so device limit restrictions won't work on them. Instead, you can configure a hard limit for these devices in the Azure AD admin center. For more information, see Manage device identities by using the Azure portal. Azure AD Applying an Azure AD device restriction to a DEM account will prevent you from reaching the 1,000 device limit that the DEM account can enroll. so from the question device limit restrictions are set in intune and not ad. thus device limitations do not apply. If the restrictions would have been set in azure then it would hasve been 15 the correct answer. In this case i am going with 1000 devices for user 2

This makes sense and clears up some of the confusion in other comments. I'm assuming User 1 is still 10 though?

This Link says the default is 15 devices maximum can be enrolled. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/enrollment/device-limit-intune-azure The device restriction (which may not apply since if the above is true regarding restrictions being set in intune vs AD) is set to 10. I can't find documentation that says an Intune Administrator has a set limit of devices they are able to enroll. Unless They have a different set up enrollment permisions like a DEM I'm going to go with 15 1000

Either that or we're all overthinking it.

Going with the given answer. I could be wrong but after researching and finding nothing that contradicts this, the enrollment restrictions take precedent over DEM and Default. Unless someone tests this or has documentation that says otherwise.

its true DEM can enroll up to 1000 devices below: -Device limit restrictions: DEM enrolls Windows 10/11 devices in shared device mode, so device limit restrictions won't work on them. Instead, you can configure a hard limit for these devices in the Azure AD admin center. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/enrollment/device-enrollment-manager-enroll

I agree with bensrayan. This was a practice lab by Microsoft, not sure if this is any help... Scenario You need to prepare for device management using Microsoft Intune. First of all, you need to ensure that users are assigned appropriate licenses for device management. As a verification test, you will assign Aaron Nicholls the required licenses. You also need to ensure that any Windows device that is joined or registered to Azure AD will automatically be enrolled into Intune. You have also been asked to ensure that members of the Sales group are restricted from enrolling personal Android and iOS devices into Intune and that the Enrollment Device Limit is increased to 10 devices. Finally, you need to configure Allan Deyoung as a Device enrollment manager to allow him to enroll 1000 devices.
