not very sure because I didn't find so many web articles but You are right. Basic pricing tier DB’s will remain configured with 7 days Short Term retention as other values are not supported for this SKU. However it looks that you can configure long term backups for this pricing tied DB’s https://sysadminas.eu/2019/08/part-2-azure-sql-db-backups-configure-the-backups/

I think people are getting confused because the question mentions "daily" and "monthly" but they are actually different backups. Daily back ups are point in time recovery (PITR) backups that vary with the Azure SQL tier. Monthly back ups are long term recovery (LTR) backups stored in blob storage for up to 10 years. The key to this question is to understand 1) "daily backup" = PITR = varies with Azure SQL service tier. Only available with 35 day retention on DB2+DB3. DB1 not included because basic tier only supports 7 days of retention for PITR. 2) "monthly backup" = LTR = does NOT vary with Azure SQL service tier. In fact the point of LTR is to support long term retention scenarios beyond what's possible at your service tier. Available with up to 10 year retention on DB1+DB2+DB3. Source https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-sql/database/long-term-retention-overview "Many applications have regulatory, compliance, or other business purposes that require you to retain database backups beyond the 7-35 days provided by Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance automatic backups."

for monthly backup answer should be DB1,DB2,DB3 following the justification :- for daily backup we can use Point in Time Restore. These backups are retained for 7 days for Basic, 35 days for Standard and 35 days for Premium. To enable LTR, you can define a policy using a combination of four parameters: weekly backup retention (W), monthly backup retention (M), yearly backup retention (Y), and week of year (WeekOfYear).so we can not use it for daily but weekly which is asked in second option and long-term retention (LTR) feature, you can store specified SQL Database and SQL Managed Instance full backups in Azure Blob storage with configured redundancy for up to 10 years. You can then restore any backup as a new database.

Databases that can retain a daily backup for up to 35 days: > SQLdb2 and SQLdb3 only This question is asking for the "Point-In-Time-Restore-Configuration" limits and the difference between the pricing tiers. Basic allows a max. of 7 days whereas Standard and Premium allow 35 days. Tested and verified in lab. Databases that can retain monthly backups for up to 120 months: > SQLdb1, SQLdb2 and SQLdb3 only This question is asking for the Long-term Retention limits. All pricing tiers allow a monthly retention of up to 120 months (10 years). Tested and verified in lab. Maybe "SQLdb2 and SQLdb3 only" was valid at the time the question was designed. "Azure SQL Data Warehouse" is now called "Azure Synapse Analytics". And I couldn't find a way to configure the LTR or PITR from within the logical server. So I guess this can be ruled out.

https://www.sqlservercentral.com/articles/backups-in-azure-sql-data-warehouse#:~:text=These%20backups%20are%20stored%20for,are%20stored%20for%207%20days.&text=In%20Azure%20SQL%20there%20is,for%20up%20to%2010%20years. These backups are stored for 7 days for a basic tier (the cheapest option) and 35 days for Standard and Premium tiers. The dropped databases are stored for 7 days. In many cases, these automatic backups are enough. Because we are interested in the new data updated. In Azure SQL there is a new option to create permanent backups using the Vault option. This option allows to retain backups for up to 10 years. However, this option is not available in ASDW yet:

I'm still confuse. According to the documentation: https://azure.microsoft.com/de-de/blog/azure-sql-database-point-in-time-restore/ for Basdc Tier is Point-in-time-Restory - max 7 days. But i can configure LTR also for basic trier in portal to max 10 years-
