A local bookstore plans to offer online ordering with in-store pickup by using a third-party e-commerce site.
Credit card authorizations are required for online sales.
You need to recommend options to ensure that customers who place online orders are not charged until the merchandise is picked up in the store.
What are three possible ways to achieve this goal? Each correct answer presents part of the solution.
NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.

  • A. Pass a credit card token from Dynamics 365 Retail POS to e-commerce.
  • B. Pass sales data from e-commerce to Dynamics 365 Finance.
  • C. Configure Dynamics 365 Finance and Dynamics 365 Retail.

Selected Answer: BCE
The correct answers are B, C, and E because they enable online ordering with in-store pickup while delaying the credit card charge until pickup. B ensures sales data flows to Finance for processing. C connects Finance and Retail for synced inventory and transactions. E allows the e-commerce site to send a credit card token to Retail POS—authorizing payment at order time but charging only at pickup.

The module is called Commerce and not e-commerce. The Retail module no longer exists and has been replaced by the Commerce module.
