Your network contains an Active Directory domain named adatum.com. The domain contains two DHCP servers named Server1 and Server2.
Server1 has the following IP configuration.

Server2 has the following IP configuration.

Some users report that sometimes they cannot access the network because of conflicting IP addresses.
You need to configure DHCP to avoid leasing addresses that are in use already.
Solution: On Server1, you modify the EndRange IP address of the scope.
Does this meet the goal?

  • A. Yes
  • B. No

Right, but with it being a domain joined DHCP server that isn't authorized, that's a show-stopper!

Hmm, its a tricky one. Even if you change the End Range of the scope, the server is still susceptible to handing out the same address because 'ConflictAttempts' is set to 0. I'm going to go with no.

actually changed my mind. Microsoft recommend you only enable Conflict Detection if you absolutely need to. Splitting the scopes will do fine... I'll go with yes

There is another variant of this question which solution is: " On Server2, you modify the StartRange IP address of the scope." I believe this correct.

Answer is "No". server 1 does not have conflict detection enabled so may lease an address which has been statically assigned somewhere.

The questions over DHCP 73,74,75 all show IsAuthorized configure to False. DHCP must be authorized to can lease IP adress. So for me the three question are B.-False.

I agree. Neither server is authorized, so they aren't assigning IP addresses.

Person: You have 2 scopes one that ends at 100 and one that begins at 80. This means that you have an overlap over 20 ipaddresses at the StartRange of the scope of Server 2 that are in confilict. DHCP will ALWAYS Assign the first IP in the scope and thus if a computer has IP 172.16.0.80 then you have a conflict. Regardless of which one is authorized they are both Active. Changing the EndRange scope to be 79 would 100% stop the conflicts.
