Proposed ans is correct. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/platform/resource-logs-collect-workspace above gives more clarity, initially i thought of event hub as Q says 300 VMs, however as it is to centrally monitor should be Log analytics. In case of 3rd party ITSM integration or custom telemetry platform, we can use event hub.
