Suggested Answer: B 🗳️
Instead, create a resources group for each resource type. Assign tags to each resource
Note: Tags enable you to retrieve related resources from different resource groups. This approach is helpful when you need to organize resources for billing or management.

I agree that both are correct. It would be more easy to pin down the correct one if somewhere between the lines was something like "with minimum maintenance overhead". If something so unclear comes up in the exam I will surely make a note and send feedback for it.

In this example one consolidated view is possible with multiple subscriptions: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/manage/view-all-accounts

Correct Answer is A this is also possible. You can create a different subscription for each department. From Cost Analysis , you can see the costs based each subscription .

Decided to go with B after much reading ard and internal debates. Seems like they are looking for only 1 specific answer. And choosing MCA/MPA requires a few more steps... something not very clearly stated here. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/understand/download-azure-invoice

The solution would also provide a consolidated view if the created Subscriptions are included in a Management Group; however, as that is not included in the statement, I guess the solution would not comply with that aspect.

-This solution would work just fine. I know multiple companies that use subscriptions to sort departments in companies for easy management of budgeting for departments. This fits all specifications of the answer, not sure why its no.

Part of the solution is a "consolidated view", using a unique subscription would not consolidate the resource views.

From Cost Analysis > you can filter by "Resource Type" and as the whole subscription is dedicated for a certain department then you can achieve the consolidated view for sure by following this solution as well.

The requirement is a "consolidated view" which, I read to mean, an ability to see all of the expenses broken out by department in one report. Doing this by a Subscription will only allow you to see that Subscription's costs so you'd have to create 4 different reports. Therefore, I think the answer is "B".
