You have a Power Pivot data model that contains a table named DimProduct. DimProduct has seven columns named ProductKey, ProductLabel, ProductName,
ProductDescription, ProductSubCategoryKey, Manufacturer, and Brand.
Only the members of the product team use all the data in the DimProduct table.
You need to simplify the model for other users by hiding all the columns except Product Name.
What should you do?

  • A. Create a perspective that has only the ProductName field from DimProduct selected.
  • B. Select all the columns in DimProduct except ProductName, right-click the columns, and then click Hide from Client Tools.
  • C. Edit the Table behavior settings for DimProduct and add ProductName to the Default Label.

I think the answer should be A, cause if you hide the columns the setting will apply for all the users

I think the correct answer is A too, the new perspective that shown the "Product Name" only will be available to the other users

B is incorrect, because that implies it would hide the columns for all users. The question specifically asks us to do something for a subset of the users.

Perspective Link: https://www.sumproduct.com/blog/article/power-pivot-principles/ppp-perspectives Hide from Client Link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/power-pivot-reporting-properties-hiding-tables-columns-and-fields-from-power-pivot-and-power-view-a9c1142f-7b27-4c60-8e31-67edf41fbf4b I go with B. Differences: Hide from the Clients is about hiding the fields Only in PV field lists, when we open the “Data Model” in power pivot, we still could see complete data set(all the columns) there, even in “Diagram View”, the hidden fields/columns will show in gray. Perspective is about hiding the fields not only in PV fields lists, but also into the “Data Model”, unless we know the trick of the under “Advanced”-“Create and Manage perspective”; Let’s assume the ordinary Users only know how to use pivot table, then “option B” is enough. And the team members still could go into “Data Model” to add whatever measures or calculated columns.

The answer is B. It is looking for to simplify the model. Read the Note part. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/power-pivot-reporting-properties-hiding-tables-columns-and-fields-from-power-pivot-and-power-view-a9c1142f-7b27-4c60-8e31-67edf41fbf4b

I think that in order to distinguish "hide from clients view" from"perspective" one should look weather it affects model or workbook. In this case it is said model, and perspective changes the look of the model, not a workbook.

"Tested" --> it will work, for sure, but as others already pointed out, it will be applied to **all users**, not just for a subset of users, hence the solution should be "A".
