HOTSPOT -
You have computers that run Windows 10 as shown in the following table.

CLIENT4 successfully.

Client 1 can reach client 4 as it's on the same subnet /24 (.1-254). If client 4 has a /25 or more subnet mask, it thinks it's on a different subnet (maybe 128-254 with a /25). client 3 can still reach client 4 as it has a .250 which is pretty close. So, client 4 subnet mask is incorrect (not /24 or 255.255.255.0)

This question doesn't make any sense. That client1 can communicate is with the assumption that client2 is behind a router on a different subnet. The other clients are most likely on the same subnet, then gateway is not required. Leaving IP adres and subnet left. These seem to be valid because client3 can communicate with client4.

In this question the given IP address and subnet mask(/24) gives this range: 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.254. Client2 has 192.168.1.x meanining he is not part of this subnet, therefore he is the wrong one due to the subnet mask. If we change the subnet mask we can extend the range until 192.168.1.x fits in.

Or you can just change the IP address of client 2. :)

I believe there is a typo in this question. It is impossible to CLIENT1 to communicate with CLIENT2 with that subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. CLIENT1 should has 255.255.0.0 to communicate with CLIENT2.

Based on what I just said, I realized that CLIENT2 is the misconfigured because of subnet mask of 255.255.0.0. The only possible way to CLIENT1 communicate with CLIENT2 is that if CLIENT2 has 255.255.0.0 (192.168.x.x). CLIENT4 won't communicate with CLIENT1 because of any other issue, Firewall, for example.

After 3 months later, I think, I came up with a solution and examtopics is right. Misconfigured computer: CLIENT4 As CLIENT1 pings all other machines, so the wrong configuration is on CLIENT4. Misconfigured setting: Subnet mask The only way for CLIENT1 not to see CLIENT4 is a mismatched subnet mask. Both have the same prefix, so only a mismatched subnet mask.

Wouldn't CLIENT3 also fail in this case? If CLIENT 1 can ping CLIENT3, I assume both have the correct subnet mask. But if CLIENT4 has a different Subnet mask, CLIENT3 would also fail to ping it, wouldn't it?

or CLIENT1 won't ping CLIENT4 for other reasons. Said that, CLIENT2 and his IP address are misconfigured.

Should be Subnet Mask. Client1 and Client4 are in the same network. It doesn't need the Default gateway to connect. But if the Subnet Mask is wrong, Client4 thinks Client1 is outside its network.

Hello, I did a test in packet tracer, and I confirm what Wendy5902 says, if a "host is in the same network segment" you don't need a default Gateway, now let an extended ping from CL1 to CL4 with the /24 default mask or 255.255.255.0 and without Default Gateway and the ping works, but if you change the Subnet Mask the ping does not arrive. So with the information they provide us, we come to the conclusion that it is the Subnet Mask that prevents the ping from arriving. They can do their lab on Cisco Packet Trackert. Correct answer Bad configuration: CLIENT4 and Bad Configuration: Subnet Mask.
