Suggested Answer:
Box 1: Standard Dataverse table -
Standard: Several standard tables, also known as out-of-box tables, are included with a Dataverse environment. Account, business unit, contact, task, and user tables are examples of standard tables in Dataverse. Most of the standard tables included with Dataverse can be customized.
Box 2: Standard Custom Dataverse table
Custom: Custom tables are unmanaged tables that are either imported from an unmanaged solution or are new tables created directly in the Dataverse environment.

The question says "The solution must minimize the amount of customization required". The expected solution to this question must minimize the amount of customization and the only way to minimize customization in this context is to go for standard. A standard customer table can be used for the Owner Object. The Pet Object is definitely Custom Table Email Address is definitely Column To link Pet records to Owner records is definitely Relationship

The Owner Object Component: Custom Dataverse Table Explanation: Since there's no standard Dataverse table that specifically represents pet owners, a custom table should be created. This table will store the information about the pet owners. The Pet Object Component: Custom Dataverse Table Explanation: Similarly, for pets, a custom Dataverse table would be needed as there isn’t a standard table that would typically store pet information. The Owner's Email Address Component: Column (in the Owner custom Dataverse table) Explanation: The owner's email address would be a column in the custom Dataverse table created for owners. This column would store the email addresses of the pet owners. Reference a Pet Record as Belonging to an Owner Record Component: Relationship Explanation: To link pet records to their respective owners, a relationship should be established between the pet table and the owner table.

This would have been the right answer had it been that the question did not say "The solution must minimize the amount of customization required". The expected solution to this question must minimize the amount of customization and the only way to minimize customization in this context is to go for standard. A standard customer table can be used for the Owner Object

Answer is right. Pet owners are customers for the hospital so they can be stored using standard table. Pets' information should be stored in a custom table.

Why the pet object is a custom dataverse table and not a standard one?

A 'standard' table is a 'prebuilt' table that can be customized. A pet owner is a customer/contact, so the 'Contact' table can be used. Pets don't have such a prebuilt table and must be built from scratch. I agree that the terminology is confusing, it's like you need some kind of extraordinary table, but the terms have to do with availability.

because all the given owner fields are already available into the Contact entity. A pet entity should be created from scratch, so it is custom.

Same question. Can't we use a standard table and customize columns inside to meet the need? Pet table can then use the pet owner as a key to look up the owner table. I will go Standrd table + Standard table

Indeed, however, the question does stipulate to minimize customisation, so it has to be a custom table from the get go.
