Correct Preservation Lock locks a retention policy or retention label policy so that no one—including a global admin—can turn off the policy, delete the policy, or make it less restrictive. This configuration might be needed for regulatory requirements and can help safeguard against rogue administrators. When a retention policy is locked: No one can disable the policy or delete it Locations can be added but not removed You can extend the retention period but not decrease it When a retention label policy is locked: No one can disable the policy or delete it Locations can be added but not removed Labels can be added but not removed In summary, a locked policy can be increased or extended, but it can't be reduced or turned off.

Disagree, answer should be Y/Y/N Retention policies don't stop you deleting from an exchange location, they are just moved to a hidden folder and retained there. Locking the policy doesn't change the policy behaviour, just how you can interact with the policy itself. Yes we can increase the retention period No we can't reduce it

Error: You can't remove users or site locations from this policy because it has Preservation Lock turned on. You can only add users or site locations to locked policies. The first one should be N.

Since we have a preservation lock on this policy the GA wont be able to remove email from the location. But we can extend the retention period, but NOT make it less restrictive. Which means that we cannot decrease the retention period.
