Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer:
Box 1: data package -
Data package - A single compressed file that contains a data project manifest and data files. This is generated from a data job and used for import or export of multiple files with the manifest.
Note: A data package for a Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations app can consist of one or many data entities. A typical data package consists of a group of entities for a specific task, process, or function. For example, the data entities that are required for general ledger setup might be part of one data package. The format of a data package is a compressed file that contains a package manifest, a package header, and any additional files for the data entities that are included.
Incorrect:
A data entity is an abstraction from the physical implementation of database tables.

Box 2: data job -
Data job - A job that contains an execution instance of the data project, uploaded files, schedule (recurrence), and processing options.

The 1st one should be data entity: "To summarize: Data entity provides conceptual abstraction and encapsulation (de-normalized view) of underlying table schemas to represent key data concepts and functionalities." https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/data-entities/data-entities

The 1st for sure must be data entity. The question asks what represent "multiple underlying tables combined to complete a common data concept". A data entity represents a common data concept or functionality and is a conceptual abstraction and encapsulation of one or more underlying tables. Data package, however, contains a data project manifest and data files and is generated from a data job.

1st should be data enttiy. Data entities - A data entity is a conceptual abstraction and encapsulation of one or more underlying tables. A data entity represents a common data concept or functionality, for example, Customers or Vendors. Data entities are intended to be easily understood by users familiar with business concepts. After data entities are created, you can reuse them through the Excel Add-in, use them to define import/export packages, or use them for integrations. Data package - A single compressed file that contains a data project manifest and data files. This is generated from a data job and used for import or export of multiple files with the manifest.

I agree with "Data entity" the phrasing sounds like a description of an entity not a data package..

The 1st one is data entity because the verbiage is "multiple tables". If it had said "multiple entities" then yes, data package would be correct. The displayed answer for the first one is wrong and should be changed.
