HOTSPOT -
Your company develops a web service that is deployed to an Azure virtual machine named VM1. The web service allows an API to access real-time data from
VM1.
The current virtual machine deployment is shown in the Deployment exhibit. (Click the Deployment tab).

The chief technology officer (CTO) sends you the following email message: "Our developers have deployed the web service to a virtual machine named VM1.
Testing has shown that the APIs is accessible from VM1 and VM2. Our partners must be able to connect to the API over the Internet. Partners will use this data in application that they develop".
You deploy an Azure API Management (APIM) service. The relevant API Management configuration is shown in the API exhibit. (Click the API tab).

For each of the following statements, select Yes if the statement is true. Otherwise, select No.
NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.

1. Yes - Because we are using an APIM, deployed to a VNET but configured to be "External" 2. Yes - Because the APIM is deployed in the same vNET as VM1 just in a different subnet. Communication between subnets are enabled by default and there is no mention of otherwise. 3. No - No VPN required because the APIM is accessible from the internet by virtue of it being configured as "External"

The answers are correct. Mainly because of this "When deploying an Azure API Management instance to a Resource Manager VNET, the service must be in a dedicated subnet that contains no other resources except for Azure API Management instances. If an attempt is made to deploy an Azure API Management instance to a Resource Manager VNET subnet that contains other resources, the deployment will fail."

Today the article says "A virtual network and subnet in the same region and subscription as your API Management instance. A dedicated subnet is recommended but ***not*** required."

External means it's available over the Internet, and "Our partners must be able to connect to the API over the Internet" - there is no need

1st should be No as the subnet is Prodsubnet not Subnet1 where the VM is deployed

as per this link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/api-management/api-management-using-with-vnet ,API management needs to be deployed to its own dedicated subnet that contains no other resources. Hence this is a standard deployment that would allow access to the API over the internet when External access type is configured.
