An administrator in configuring a NetApp SAN with iSCSI LIFs that fail over between HA partner nodes. The customer has several NetApp clusters of different models and types. Which cluster meets this requirement?
In non-ASA platforms (AFF, FAS, ONTAP Select), iSCSI LIFs are typically fixed to their home node and do not migrate. Redundancy is achieved through MPIO, where hosts connect to multiple LIFs (at least one per node in the HA pair), and ALUA directs traffic to optimized paths. If a node fails, the host uses LIFs on the surviving node, but this is not true LIF failover.
