You can define variables (PanoramaTemplates) for templates and template stacks or you can edit existing variables for an individual device (PanoramaManaged DevicesSummary). Variables are configuration components defined on the template or template stack that provide flexibility and re-usability when you use Panorama to manage firewall configurations. You can use variables to replace: An IP address (includes IP Netmask, IP Range, and FQDN) in all areas of the configuration. Interfaces in an IKE Gateway configuration (Interface) and in an HA configuration (Group ID). Configuration elements in your SD-WAN configuration (AS Number, QoS Profile, Egress Max, Link Tag). https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/pan-os/10-1/pan-os-web-interface-help/panorama-web-interface/panorama-templates/panorama-templates-template-variable

"you can edit existing variables for an individual device (Panorama> Managed Devices> Summary". That is not the Panorama> templates location, which just seems to be where you can create and find the templates, but not edit them. So I think Bryan is right with Answer B. Updated link for that article is- https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/panorama/11-0/panorama-admin/manage-firewalls/manage-templates-and-template-stacks/import-and-overwrite-existing-template-stack-variables. Export the existing template stack variables. Select Panorama> Templates and select a template or template stack. Select Variable CSV> Export. Open the exported CSV. Edit the CSV file. Import the CSV file back to same place as the export and Commit. NOTE: When you push a device group configuration with references to template or template stack variables, you must Edit Selections and Include Device and Network Templates.

Selected Answer: B
Manage varaibles is where you create a new variable, or assign a default value. If you want to set a value for an individual device, you can do it in managed devices -> Summary (which is not an option), or by exporting, modifying and importing a csv. So B is the most correct.

I choose D B - is wrong because you would import the CSV file to Panorama, not export.

from the question mark in panorama template GUi: Edit Existing Template Variable You can edit a template variable definition for a template or template stack at any point after the variable is created (Panorama > Templates). Manage the template variables to select a variable and edit available values as needed.

D 1000%. Just verified in my own Panorama. Go to Panorama > templates > manage (for each template). You can also do it per device under Panorama > Managed Devices > Summary > Under "Variables"... but this isnt an option.

The answer is B: The only way to edit the variable is by importing it as CSV https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/panorama/9-1/panorama-admin/manage-firewalls/manage-templates-and-template-stacks/import-and-overwrite-existing-template-stack-variables

As others have pointed out C and D are technically wrong. B actually made a lot of sense to me after watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxAy_7X5g3E

This question is absolutely retarded The answer is in plain text in the links provided but not in the actual answer choice You can define variables (Panorama Templates ) for templates and template stacks or you can edit existing variables for an individual device (Panorama Managed Devices Summary ) https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/pan-os/10-2/pan-os-web-interface-help/panorama-web-interface/panorama-templates/panorama-templates-template-variable C seems to be the least incorrect

The question did not say edit a template variable at the template/template stack level. It asks how do you edit a template variable at the device level. only viable answer I see is B.https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/panorama/9-1/panorama-admin/manage-firewalls/manage-templates-and-template-stacks/import-and-overwrite-existing-template-stack-variables

I agree with you that the question didn't say to edit a template variable at the template/template stack level, however, B is a kind of editing but it involves exporting the templates, but it is done under Panorama > Templates which goes against the question. I think the correct answer is C because you can go there and do it per device, although to edit it you need to override, but I think it is C.

You maybe did not read all of B, while Variable is the key word, exporting to a CSV does not fit the answer in any way. D is correct.

But you need to export the CSV in order to edit variables, tricky question.
