An organization that embraced agile a couple of years ago is looking for a more efficient way to ensure that the increments produced in each sprint meet the end users' quality requirements.
What should the project lead recommend?
A.
Develop a more comprehensive template for the definition of done (DoD).
B.
Establish a quality assurance (QA) team separate from the development team.
C.
Organize more frequent sprint reviews with a broader audience.
D.
Increase the percentage allocated for testing each backlog item.
A is better answer, as C will be too late. Also it says involve the Sprint Review with a "Broader" audience, it doesn't address the specific needs of the customer. So I will go for A
To ensure that the increments produced in each sprint meet the end users' quality requirements in an Agile environment, the project lead should recommend:
A. Develop a more comprehensive template for the definition of done (DoD).
The Definition of Done (DoD) is a critical concept in Agile development, outlining the criteria that must be met for a user story or increment to be considered complete. By developing a more comprehensive DoD, the team can clearly define the quality standards and criteria that need to be satisfied before considering an increment as "done." This can include specific testing requirements, quality checks, and other criteria that ensure the delivered work meets the desired level of quality.
C.
I see that most people have the wrong idea on DoD (Definition of Done)
The DoD defines what is done. It is a mix of the organization's quality standards and team's standards. NOT THE CUSTOMER'S.
Also, putting too much DoD in the list is counterintuitive. IMAGINE PUTTING LOTS OF QUALITY REQUIREMENTS IN DOD.
DO YOU THINK YOU WILL EVER FINISH WORK? KNOWING THAT QUALITY CAN BE QUITE SUBJECTIVE?
IT'S A. GET FEED BACK. THEN ANALYZE PLAN DESIGN. GET FEEDBACK. ANALYZE, PLAN DESIGN.
Voting for A.
Option C, organizing more frequent sprint reviews with a broader audience, may help gather feedback and validation from a larger group of stakeholders but may not directly address the quality requirements.
Option D, increasing the percentage allocated for testing each backlog item, is a good practice, but it alone may not guarantee that all aspects of the product are meeting the quality requirements.
The key word - "more efficient way". Not always it will be possible to have ALL end users pariticipate sprint reviews, hence there could be some gapts. The Scrum Guide says the Definition of Done is a formal description of the state of the Increment when it meets the quality measures required for the product
Answer is A, nowhere does it mention that this was proposed in the project charter. Tempering expectations of stakeholders should come soon after coming into the project for the project manager.
